About Dr. Mangine
Joe Mangine, Ph.D.

I am a senior psychologist, with over 35 years in the field, 25 as a licensed psychologist.  I have been honored and privileged to have collaborated with clients committed to moving themselves and their lives forward.  They continue to teach me about what works in therapy, and for that I am grateful.

Over the years, I have been an employee, manager, and consultant in a range of roles  I've worked in classrooms and cubicles, hospitals and corporations.  I enjoy bringing those perspectives to our therapy.  In the end, though, providing psychological services in independent practice is the most rewarding, stimulating, challenging work I could do.

What to expect

I begin work with an initial consultation.  This first set of meetings (usually one to four sessions) allows you to tell me about your goals and to experience whether we will be a "good fit."  During that time, I will formulate one or more suggested treatment plans for the issues you are presenting.  We can then work together to decide which therapy offers the best prognosis.

I emphasize effectiveness in our work together.  If, after the initial consultation, you are not convinced that what I can offer will be valuable, I will work with you to find the ideal referral.  We will assess the work as we proceed, and we will focus on the goals you set for us in our consultation.

After five years in New Albany, I decided to join a favorite colleague in Worthington.  I am hoping that my current clients find the new space even more welcoming and comfortable.  The Old Worthington setting offers more character than a medical office building.  As a bonus, it has taught me a lesson in choosing a business name (don't incorporate a geographical location if you might EVER move).

Given the global pandemic, I am working virtually at this time.  I have a HIPPA-approved telehealth platform that guarantees your privacy and allows us to be "face to face" until we can be safely back in the office.
